BRAS, a historic Italian company specializing in the production of countertop equipment for the foodservice and hospitality sectors, takes a decisive step forward in its commitment to environmental sustainability. The company has chosen to integrate Tritan™ Renew, the innovative copolyester developed by Eastman, made with certified recycled content*, into its products.
Already in 2019, BRAS had adopted traditional Tritan in compliance with European directives banning the use of BPA in food-contact materials. Today, in response to growing consumer awareness and evolving environmental regulations, the company takes another step forward by introducing Tritan™ Renew, a more sustainable version of the same material.
“We are proud to offer a material that combines excellent performance with sustainability,” explains Marco Ugolini. “Over the years, Tritan has provided us with outstanding reliability and durability. With Tritan Renew, we offer our customers the same technical performance, but with a reduced environmental impact — an aspect increasingly valued by the market.”
Tritan Renew is produced using Eastman’s molecular recycling technology, which allows plastic materials to be regenerated while reducing the use of fossil resources and greenhouse gas emissions — without compromising quality, safety, or durability.
For BRAS, material selection is crucial: containers used for preparing and dispensing beverages must meet the highest standards of hygiene, chemical and thermal resistance, and withstand intensive washing cycles. Tritan Renew fully meets these requirements while providing a BPA-free solution, compliant with international market demands.
“Collaborating with a brand like BRAS, which invests in innovation and sustainability, is a source of great satisfaction,” says Paolo Franco, Business Development Manager at Eastman. “With Tritan Renew, BRAS offers a product that is safe, high-performing, and environmentally responsible — a value that is increasingly important to today’s consumers.”
The partnership between BRAS and Eastman has already produced tangible results, such as the development of the mold for the B-cube 3 model, characterized by the tank’s complex technical design. The combined expertise of both teams enabled the creation of a mold perfectly compatible with Tritan Renew, maintaining the excellent mechanical and aesthetic properties of the final product.
This synergy marks a new chapter in BRAS’s evolution: following the introduction of Tritan in 2019, the transition to Tritan Renew strengthens the company’s commitment to a more responsible, innovative, and future-oriented production model.
